Any disorder of metabolism causing excessive thirst & production of large volumes of urine is called as Diabetes, there are 2 types of diabetes: 1) Diabetes Insipidus: It is a rare metabolic disorder in which patient produces large quantities of diluted urine & is constantly thirsty. This is due to deficiency of Pituitary hormone called ADH or Vasopressin. Treatment is administration of this hormone.  2) Diabetes Mellitus: A disorder of carbohydrate metabolism in which sugars of the body are not oxidized to produce energy due to of pancreatic hormone Insulin.
Diabetes is not an infectious disease but many a times it is a hereditary disease.

Prevention of Metabolic Syndrome

Since, insulin resistance, physical inactivity and excess weight are the main underlying contributors to the development of Metabolic Syndrome, and all of these things are preventable, stopping Metabolic Syndrome before it starts is the best way to approach it. One should develop a healthy lifestyle that includes a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables , regular physical activities reduce weight if overweight, quit smoking and limit the intake of alcohol.

Recommendation on Physical Activity

Lack of physical activity increases your risk for heart attack and stroke and can contribute to obesity. On the other hand, regular physical activity helps to reduce blood pressure, control weight and reduce stress. For overall health benefits to the heart, lungs and circulation perform any moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic activity using the following guidelines of AHA (American Heart Association): Ø   Get the equivalent of at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic physical activity (2 hours and 30 minutes) each week. Ø   You can incorporate your weekly physical activity with 30 minutes a day on at least 5 days a week. Ø   Physical activity should be performed in episodes of at least 10 minutes, and preferably, it should be spread throughout the week. Ø   Include flexibility and stretching exercises. Ø   Include muscle strengthening activity at least 2 days each week.

Workaholism: A Life out of Balance

Workaholism: A Life out of Balance: If you are working to the exclusion of your family, other relationships, and your life is out of balance, or your physical health takes a hit -- when work takes an exclusive priority to everything else, then there is a problem. Like other forms of addiction, workaholic can have significant health consequences, experts say, including significantly higher work-related stress and job burn-out rates, anger, depression, anxiety, and psychosomatic symptoms such as stomachaches and headaches. The workaholic might have a set of beliefs about the value of work which are misguided, and if you can intervene cognitively -- not to correct or get rid of them, but just make them a little more rational – you might see a change in the behavior and consequent stress reaction.
