Avoid using ear buds

Earwax is a yellowish, waxy substance secreted in the ear canal. It plays an important role of assisting in cleaning and lubrication, and also provides protection from bacteria, fungi, and insects. Excess or impacted wax can press against the eardrum and/or occlude the external auditory canal and impair hearing.
For cleaning wax from your ears. Use of ear buds can only serve to push the wax further down, making it more difficult for the doctor to remove it later on. Alternatively use a wax softening solution (Soliwax) or see your ENT doctor.
